On November 24th, as part the Newfoundland and Labrador Creative Arts Festival, the Triolet d’Nord percussion group put on a stunning afternoon performance for the school.

Come to our School Book Fair!!!!!

It’s the time of year again for the SIS Book Fair!!! With Christmas in the near future, we will have great gift ideas. There are lots of popular titles for all ages to enjoy. Our book fair will be held Tuesday Nov. 15th, Wednesday Nov. 16th, and Thursday Nov. 17th. You can find us in the Sheshatshiu Innu School library at 3:10 – 4:00 on these days.

Why buy from the book fair? Every dollar spent at the book fair will help earn books for SIS! The more money we make, the more books the school will get, and literacy is an important part of every student’s education. Every time you make a purchase, your name will go into a draw. The person who wins will earn $25.00 worth of books for yourself and $25.00 in books for their classroom. Another reason to visit the book fair is that it’s convenient. If you buy items there is no waiting for it to arrive at the school like the book orders. You buy it, it’s yours! Posters will need to be ordered, but keep in mind they are a special item that you can’t order from monthly book orders.

Skipping Team Visits SIS

On Friday October 21st and Saturday the 22nd, the Jump Energy Rope Skipping Club from Nova Scotia visited Sheshatshiu. On Friday, they put on an amazing demonstration of world-class skipping for the entre school and followed up on Saturday with skipping workshop open to all!
